Beautiful things blooming

That's a really cool looking plant, is it perennial?
My wife bought a plant something similar to this but I don't know if it flowers...I'll have to ask her what it is.
This is ricinus communis (castor bean plant) - annual here in NJ, but perennial in warmer climates. I am growing the smallest cultivar (Impala) that should top out around 5’ and have nine planted around the yard and by my fig trees.

Ah okay, I don't think I've ever seen one.
Thanks for the info.

The flowers are definitely not showy, but an interesting and hopefully beneficial plant nonetheless. Just started flowering and setting seed pods.

At one time in the Midwest little groves of castor beans were common to drive moles away. The deadly toxicity of the seeds was well known to older children long before the toxin ricin was widely publicized. One of those plants pets and small children should be kept away from for sure.
