2025 Fig Season in MD 7B

8/10/25

Pellegrino - Huge, dense, meaty and berry! Very refreshing mouthful.

Forastera de Can Reviu (MP) - First time fruiting. Delicious sweet berry. Need to eat more to get a better taste.

I posted a pic of a Smith fig and stated that the sweetness wasnt as intense due to rainy weather. A member suggested covering the plants with clear plastic. I guess that should work with fig splitting varieties.

Yes, I’ve tried covering just the pot before. But now I just let nature at it. I’ve come to the fact that Sometimes I will get perfectly ripe figs and sometimes I don’t.
Problem with covering is, usually when it’s a big enough downpour or storm, it comes with winds too, so then you gotta worry about to blowing away too.

8/13/25 Ischia Black (main Crop)

Strongest berry flavor yet this season! Wasn't even dead ripe. This guy was sticking out like a sore thumb at the very top of a branch so I didn't want to risk it any longer.
