What fig would you not part with ?

Hi! My first 2 years were like that. Last year i got a small number of: golden riverside, and 1 of stella, lsu strawberry, and lsu hollier. Several others dropped fruit before i could taste them, now i have everything dialed in and am excited fof 2026. You will get there!

My fav so far is tied between stella and golden riverside, they were both so sweet!

I grew up eating something with my grandpa, a purple fig with five fingered leaves, im not sure what it was, but i believe it was black mission or celeste, and i enjoyed those as well.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Stella. It’s definitely on my wishlist. Lol

Smith is one on my list to buy eventually so i can try it, is it a fast grower? For example my col de dame is soooo slow to grow
I’ve seen it’s very vigorous. I’m excited for it. People make it sound so good. It would definitely be one of those I held on to if I had to part with most of my collection
I don't think there's a favorite fig in my collection yet. If you have not eaten a fig yet then I will think you should beware the hype of a "premium" fig. Try them all and start off small. Some of the common lesser figs taste better than the premium figs to me. A fig tree's maturity, ripeness, fertilizer and the time of year ect. greatly impacts the flavor.

If you made me pick I would say Olympian, Chicago Hardy(Etna), Iranian Candy are amazing.
oh that’s good to hear. I do have an Olympian cutting rooting currently. Hoping it will stay. I’ve seen it’s very vigorous and one of the bigger sized varieties

Smith isn't a fast grower for me, and had no fig the first year. My Cessac cutting is only 2 month old and is loaded with brebas, which I took off though. I do feel Cessac is a "improved Smith".
I only have one cessac cutting but I don’t believe it took. It was a super small cutting

I’ve currently got a CDDB that I got from FiggyEd. I’m very excited for it. I’ve wanted a CDD for a while. Good to hear it was a favorite
Last year i tried CDDB and it was amazing! This year I learned that CDD Gris is aa good but almost 2 weeks earlier. If that's true, that would be a significant advantage. I just loved sweet and tart taste of it, perfect refreshing combination. I usually love berry type things...but this one won me over.
Love at first bite!

CDD Roja and a local fig called A street strawberry Unk. I was gonna get by to take some cuttings of it, but I think it’s already died to the ground since it for it single digits. Strawberry verte was really good, and so was Bourjasotte Grise and Azores Dark. Figs that are borderline getting removed because they are not vigorous, slow growers, little figs, splitters, or bland: CDD Cuitat, Black Manzanita, LSU strawberry, Harry’s Crete, I’m sure there will be more.

Oh man that sounds fantastic. I have a feeling I will prefer the berry Adriatic types. I’m not big on honey. And the thought of a sugar fig doesn’t sound as good as berry lol
