Hi, Judy here, hope I'm doing this right. Wasn't sure how to post something. Something about me: bought a 1 yr old tree knowing nothing in 2020, a Kadota. Then somehow ventured into the fight world via FB. Next thing I know I have 10/11 fig trees of different types and a couple unknowns. I started them all from cuttings. My newest cutting is a Peters Honey, we shall see how it does in region 7A, south Central KY. My weather is much different then friends on the ridge. I get more frost then they do. All figs are in 1/2 barrels which we shuttle out and back into the barn via tractor. They have their own special room which the husband insulated. How did I find your forum.... I saw a fig get together in Chattanooga, TN in the fall. Think it was thru a fig group. Happy to be here.

That's how it starts Judy, a single tree gets you hooked. lol
1/2 barrels, that's awesome!
I plan to do a few 1/2 barrels for a couple cirtus trees.
The Chattanooga Fig event you speak of is the Fig Frolic held every Sept.
This year on the 13th...hope to see yall there. :)

I also started to grow figs in 2020. My very first tree was a Yellow Long Neck I bought from Wellsprings on eBay. I couldn’t believe how teeny tiny it was when it arrived. Here’s a picture of it. Turns out it’s a tissue culture. That’s what wellsprings sells.
