I never liked that term...before the internet I never heard anyone use it:

I do need to find a way to address the member status issue. I mean... I know you're new at this... but I think you may have grown a fig or two in your time...
I want to implement some sort of system that recognizes past contributions to the community. This guy Danny even joined earlier today.... He's a newbie as well... Hmmmm. So much work to do.
