The figbid rabbit hole....

That said... honeycrisp is a bloody good apple! After eating a few I found myself looking for dwarfs... We do have lots of apple pollinators around.
You just need to find out what dwarf rootstock likes your area and soil then you can pretty much have whatever variety you want grafted onto it. Bud9, M9, G11, G41, G214 would be a few to investigate they are in the 30 percent size range

The problem... I find when I go to local nurseries and ask these questions...Like, "what rootstock is this grown on?" I tend to get a certain "look"

If anyone is interested in coming together for the cost of a White Baca to send to @Fig Gazer to compare to 505. I would through in a 100.00. I think A6, A7 and A8 look good for grafting. I know In time @Fig Gazer would share it with the community. I will post the same thing on OF.

Either this idea or put out an open offer to the winners to buy a single node and send it to FigGazer

I 'AM flatered by the idea ,I would be happy to pay MARCO a $100 plus shiping for a one node cutting with 2-3" inches of stem below the node and 1/2 above ,freshly taken and sent . OR to any succesful bidder . For what it is worth i was reading the white baca hyistory and it mentioned the sur name of the family that started the tree in NM .Would be interesting if the hispanic family that has 505-h mother tree has same sur name ?Will stop by and ask some day . Never hear anything about WHITE BACA having 80 % + mule figs at old age ?? AS does 505-H but then again there is no longer a "OLD 100+ YEAR WB" ?
