a mile long !
That's funny and I really don't see what the big deal is with satisfying people's curiosity. This has been going on before Marco even had the fig and Amado did.It went from Nirvana to Valhalla lol!
Its not pathetic to want to compare a rare variety with other known cultivars.Agree %100
Except that based on what I read so far, you guys are looking to proove that this variety is the same as Yellow Neches or 505H
Which proves nothing especially when that comparison is not done in a lab and just based on someone opinion.
Why not just buy to have it like the rest of the people who are interested in it, instead of this pathetic games that is going on.
Its not pathetic to want to compare a rare variety with other known cultivars.
In my option it is a little reckless to accept large sums of money for a variety without doing the due diligence of the suspected synonyms, especially with the striking vasal similarities.
The recent reliance on DNA analysis being the only way to prove similarity or difference is being used as crotch. For Hundreds of years now there has been a scientific method used to determine the uniqueness of a subject and that method centers around careful observation from a trained observer.
It's interesting to Note that when interested buyers and observers ask about comparisons to other cultivars in relation the White Baca. They are met with absolute terms such as "awful", "Horrible", "terrible", "pathetic", "Threw it away". And no other details on what the actual differences were found to be. So we as the interested public are left to draw our conclusions from the pictures we see, and the manner and body of the response we get from the seller.
Can you provide me the GoFundme link so that I can better answer your question. Can you give me examples where people were so interested in doing so that they are starting a go fund me?
Marco said its not the same as Yellow Neches and tried with another local friend to 505H and confirmed they are different.
Im not the seller, but it seems like there is something more than proofing its similat to another unknown which will be useless and will not be acceptable or believable with all the shadiness around the whole thing, and will require multiple neutral parties in different climates growing these different varieties side by side.
If this is only for just comparison, then why not wait when its widely circulated and for cheap.
Can you provide me the GoFundme link so that I can better answer your question.
To say that it takes multiple growers across different growing areas to get an valid idea of the similarities is a little outlandish. It would be the perfect situation. But the synonymous question could be cleared up pretty quickly with 3 Fruits on a cutting board and a 30 second video describing the taste, heck take a shot of the 3 leaves and note any differences in ripening time.
So whats your angle here?Really? 3 fruits from 3 different trees all it takes to prove they are same or different?
Thats a first in over 20 years of growing figs!
Its also interesting to see the White Baca seller to tell someone that is questioning the rare cultivar not to bid on it. That tact looking very similar to the way Cherry Bomb was promoted prior to its sale.
