The figbid rabbit hole....

I first tasted this one not long ago when Simon brought it to a mango tasting here in So Cal. It was excellent and beat Angelito by several miles. And this is just a personal opinion, like Angelito, S33 is not worth a triple-digit price per cutting.
Hello Thera long time no talk. I've been here but I had some eye difficulty needed operations. I wanted to thank you publicly for your gift of an Angelito. I want you to know your Angelito survived and is now in my Greenhouse having a less stressful winter. This is a very generous man.

Not hating on the fig, its probably better in other zones, just not for me.

I had it and it was ok not my best fig. It was so average that I sold the cuttings last season for $2 each lol anded up selling the mother tree as bareroot for a $100
Curious to see pics of the figs and leaves. Not doubting your assessment.

It's not Figbid but saw an opportunity on Facebook the other day. Got this awesome BNR log from Bass. And I found out after we made the deal this is from his tree that produced the albino BNR sport.

That is a log for sure. Careful with your lights with the white leaves. I have a rooted cutting that is demanding extra care, if the light is too strong or the leaves are too close to the light the leaves burn and drop. Good luck rooting this one.

My propagation table last year employed a T5 fluorescent tube light fixture with two types of bulbs red and full spectrum White. It used four of each bulb. I quickly realized that even with 16 inches or more I had to back off to four lights. The eight lights was just too much. If you look the space between the light fixture, and the table seems more then adequate for T5 fluorescence. It's my experience that fig cuttings do not require a great amount of lumens at the start.

If you see the completed transactions for it on Figbid, it's been selling for hundreds since 2022 both airlayer and cuttings.

I bought my tree for $250 the same one I sold for $100 lol I might have judged it too early. Who knows 🤷‍♂️

I see yours on figbid, I will give it another try I guess 😅

I purchased Sicilian 33 cuttings last year ( from Rudy ) when prices were much cheaper. My mother tree is planted in my greenhouse in ground and will be going on year two. No figs for the first year but the tree did get to about 7’ so I traded a few cuttings in the fall and started a few trees. I just posted this photo earlier on Facebook on uppotting one of them.

Looks really nice. Great looking roots

If your planning to sell or trade please let me know, I got lots of rooted cuttings available

I don’t plan on selling but trading is a possibility. I have three of these started and a few “maybe” trades set up so I can let you know closer to some warmer temps.

I saw the post. Super thick logs! Exciting stuff. I trust that it won't need to be grafted as it grew so big!

We all tend to cull a bit early from game to time. So many variables. I have grown certain varieties that I'm ready to give up on and I visit a friend 25 minutes away and his copy looks much better than mine and vice versa. Soil, water retention, age of tree, quality of cutting or graft, FMV (visible and unseen), microclimate, etc. Im sure it will come full circle once prices drop and you can get it back once more people confirm the quality.
