My early variety Inground trees are producing some nice fruits. Florea has been fruiting for a couple weeks, Teramo Unk has quite a few in bags on it and DTE went crazy last night and I had to put about 25 bags on this morning . Improved celeste, LSU Tiger, RDB and Iranian candy are putting out a few a day. 3 years inground is when the magic happens. Give your ingrounds some time and they will reward you. Here's some pictures of today's harvest.

Do you have splitting problems with LSU Tiger? If Tiger and IC ripen roughly same time for you, which would you keep if had to choose between them? Will give one of them to a friend soon.
I don't have anything that is close to Iranian candy. Super sweet and produces for a long time. Only problem is the skin is very thin. Maybe not a problem just something to consider.Is there another fig that compares to Iranian Candy?
I'm still thinking about adding it but if it's too much like something else than....meh.
But...if early....may be worth it anyway.
Tiger doesn't split any worse IC . I would say they are slightly above average when it comes to splitting. Tiger is a bigger fig and tastes better than IC. But not by much. IC is more productive. Tiger by a nose.

I’ve considered looking into Iranian Candy also but I already have what I consider a lot of honey figs and don’t intend to add more - I’ve got Peter’s Honey, Yellow Long Neck, LSU Hollier, Deanna, and Jurupa (all in ground already) and then another handful of honey/berry figs. I definitely like the ones I’ve tasted so far but since I don’t want more than 50 varieties at absolute max, I figure 10% of the collection is good for honey varieties!

That sounds like a reasonable number of honey type figs.
Probably more than I have at the moment...Maybe 6 or 7 in my collection but I'd have to go thru my list. lol
Here's today's harvest of DTE. Great under the radar variety. Early, cold hardy and the longer your season the more figs it produces. Nice size, refreshing light berry flavor. IMHO better than RDB, there's something about the flavor of RDB that's off-putting. To me it has a funny after taste. But other people love them

I just looked up several GDD values along the Eastern Shore and they’re all up around 3,100 GDD - sometimes exceeding the period of record highs. Have you noticed a warmer Spring and Summer that the data reflects and any difference in ripening times this season compared to prior seasons?
It would look good inground along side that new Iranian candy
