Early variety Inground trees.

Your right, not as intense berry flavor and not as thick and jammy. Still very good and very productive. Probably would be a good candidate for inground in your zone
I actually have a very healthy rooted cutting growing in a 1 gallon currently, so that’s a good head start for its in-ground future!
 
To those who are unaware.......To be called a real fig fanatic you must be unaware of at least 15% of what is in your collection, and have over 50 varieties. 100+ is required to enter into the inner circle of fanatics. No kidding..... I want out to look for my Iranian Candy the other day to set a layer for a friend. I couldn't find it. Still not sure where it went. It's ridiculous!
