2025 Fig Season in MD 7B

7/30/25

Smith: Sweet syrupy berry goodness I missed so much. As the season goes the flavor gets more tropical. Good pulp texture with light seed crunch. Skin has a slight snap. FIRST Main crop for the season for Smith. 🤤

LSU Scotts yellow: Sweet sugar/Honey with light seed crunch. Skin has a snap and fruity meaty pulp texture that I like. This variety is productive early and usually ripens all its crop in bunches before the end of August.

Flanders: My first fruit off this young potted tree. Potential for sure. Crazy long neck! I should’ve measured it, New record. Lol
sweet sugar/honey texture with Super soft pulp and no seed crunch.

Iranian Candy: I’ve had a dozen or so by now. And a dozen more ripening and bagged. Honey goodness.

You’ll be in need of a larger plate once the other figs come online.

All great looking figs.

Have you been experiencing the same perfect weather we are having in NJ right now - warm and dry? Does Figue Juane have a tendency to split with the open eye?
