Breba. One and only.

It looked like it was starting to shrivel and not ripen properly. Felt pretty light. I didn’t even measure but if I had to guess it was a 25g or so.

Pretty good berry flavor with good sweetness and obviously a chewy skin.

Was pleasantly surprised.

Breba Harvest

Iranian Candy - soft and squishy, melt in your mouth, super sweet complex honey flavor, like a hint of berry that I don’t usually get from the main crop.

Kala Heera ( from thee middle east) supposedly synonymous with Ghosh and similar to Desert King that ripens Breba only as a san pedro type fig. Super sweet and great berry flavor, firm in contrast to Iranian candy. I did pick it earlier since it’s my first one of this variety and rain is forecasted.

@JC Figgy

Which are the ones in the last picture? Loving the colour there!

7/1/25 Rigato Del Salento (PB) Breba
The squirrels got the first 7! 7 brebas in 2 days. I picked these early so I’d at least get one. Definitely could’ve used a few more days. Not as good as I’ve had em before.

7/6/25 Brebas

Rigato Del Salento PB - skin was sligthly chewy, probably really good for transporting without bruising. Honey flavor and syrupy insides, sweetness level in this one was off the charts! Been hiding this kne in the greeenhouse so water has been regulated well.

Chicago Hardy - Surprisingly Good, typical soft and sweet berry flavor. Nearly as good as main crop. I think the dry hot heat this week did me a favor!

Moro De Caneva - soft and meaty with its typical raisen and figgy flavor, seeetness on this one surprised me as well. Sweeter than usual. I’d say it’s due to the dry hot heat again.

200 gram fig wow

Now that I got my Breba trees currently ripening in my Greenhouse, I’m able to let these ripen to the point that honey is dripping.
