Your most WANTED fig?

Right now? I am still waiting to find someone with the KAC Capri's.
Why don't I have them yet? Like many older fig varieties. They become lost overtime.
And may or may not still be around.
Milco would be cool to. Quite a few I need to add.
What's Yours?

Mmm, I don’t really know. I have all of the ones I set out to get, and then some. I didn’t even know there were more than one kind of fig until about this time last year, lmao. So I’m still way new to all of this. I don’t even know what to expect from the ones I have that may produce some figs this year. I only got a couple LMF last season, which they weren’t all that good to be honest. Not sure what went wrong there, but hopefully they’re better this year lol.

Most members will have a way different answer than mine.
My collection is not your norm.
I did not know how many where out there when I started collecting.
But I thought there could not be that many. You would have known about them already right?
Seems There are more than I could ever count in my lifetime.
I am still learning about them.

Do you hand pollinate your figs and breed them out or whatever? I received a GXY/Yanonali cutting and going to let that ride and see how that does. I have no definite plan for it at this point except to just let it grow. Lol

I honestly don't have a most wanted.
I'm mostly looking for any that are said to have a unique flavor....what ever that means. lol
Hahaha true! Everyone has a different opinion on everything. One man’s unique flavor may be someone’s else’s trash pile. Or the opposite. Good luck in your searches! 😂😂

I do hand pollinate them. And have kept some of the seedlings.
Don't prune your GxY. :)

It is one of the ones that have started to swell a bud. So at least at this point, it seems to be responding to the rooting process. lol. I will let it grow and do its thing. No worries.

I’m not sure if I have anything worth hand pollinating, but I may give it a whirl at some point if it survives.

My most wanted are the varieties I can't seem to get to root successfully. I'm looking at you Borda Barraquer 👀 and Fiorone Di Ruvo 👀

I’ve never heard of those. May the fig gods look down upon you in your next attempt. Lmaoooooo

Thanks

Borda B is supposedly an outstanding variety. Fiorone di Ruvo can make 150-200g brebas.

Second year attempting both. I finally have roots on Fiorone as of this morning. No visible roots on Borda, but it's a tip cutting with swelling buds.

rut roh...first I heard that BB doesnt root successfully...I have a few right in the rooting tray right now but have no idea if its doing well or not. They are all just no names right now except for a couple high dollar ones and easily identifiable ones like HdA.

My most wanted are the ones that all died on me apparently. Green Michurinska has been my most wanted for awhile, but every single cutting wilted. Oh well.

Gulbun!!!! I want to know.if it really tastes like melon. I don't have it because I ran out of yard space.

I'll clear the last corner of the yard out this fall and keep my eye out for a gulbun later this year.
Interesting. Never heard of that one. I’ll keep my eyes open for you. lol

I'll prob order from them down the line I dont want to bother trying to root one myself
I see your future figs description says Gulbun and Dalmatie. Is Dalmatie and Stella the same thing? Interwebs is 50/50 on it.
