White Baca grow log.

Hi everyone! I’ve been a member for a little while now, but I thought I would do a quick intro.

I had never given figs much thought, until I was landscaping and tried planting a fig in my yard because I thought the foliage looked nice. About 4 years and a handful of ripe figs later and I was hooked! I went crazy propagating this last winter and now have over 100 figs in pots, mostly recently rooted cuttings. Bit by the fig bug for sure!

Now to the main point of this post. White Baca! After being immersed in this and other forms I learned about this variety. It intrigued me and I decided to go for it. Rooting a $400 cutting has been nerve wracking but so far so good. Below are photos chronicling its progress thus far.

I stress over cheap cuttings. So I can only imagine the stress of a cutting that costly.

Btw, I am planning on making fig wood chips for my smoker out of this one! At this price it ought to make some great barbecue!

@WhiteCliffsFigs Congratulations on buying a cutting of the great white whale. Also for being just a regular Fig Lover, and not a speculator, investing in this sought after variety. I'm so happy to see your clearly successful in propagating this variety. Having got this far it's completely likely that you will never lose a dime in having done this. Everybody will want a taste, including me.

It has been a very hard one to get.
Marco just sold a few cuttings this past season on FigBid.
MJ was one of the ones that bought them.
We will be hearing more about this one over the next couple of years.

mjfigs bought two of the cuttings and they look great. his plants always look great. i was considering getting one of his plant reserves but i feel weird about paying for something that I can't physically see a picture of yet
