What the!!

I paid $43 for a compressed 4 cubic foot bail at my local hydroponics store. I don't like their little bits of perlite number one or two. It really does nothing for drainage, and aeration. Prefer perlite number three. I suppose tariffs are going to add to the misery. But if that's what it's going to cost to make Greenland, and Canada, part of the United States I suppose it's a worthy cause.

I always add coarse perlite to Promix for better aeration. 4 parts promix 1 part coarse perlite

Have I been out of the loop too long?

Since when did this stuff become comparable to gold?

This is double the price or a bit more from when I started using it.

That's right, this stuff is proudly developed and made in Canada. Specifically, these are designed and manufactured in factories located in Quebec and across Canada. You can get it here for $50 Canadian or roughly $35 US.

Expect the prices to rise even higher if your dear leader marches forward with the 25% tariff. Or you can become the 11th Canadian province or the 4th territory and enjoy higher taxes but lower prices on Pro Mix stuff. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

All tariffs have been put on hold for at least one month. Anything currently in stores has not had any tariffs applied.

The prices are way up here as well. For now it’s just good old fashioned gouging….

FWIW, Sunshine Mix #4 is also excellent and can sometimes be found cheaper.

One thing I like to do is look for damaged bags and ask if they’ll give me a discount. Doesn’t always work but last year I got 3 bags of the Sunshine for $20 each

The peat I buy has not gone up.
It is Canadian. You also have to factor in
when you buy products. This is not gardening season yet for most.
So products may have a higher cost.

Just thinking.....If I can get it for $44 Canadian, that's only aboot $30 USD. All I need to do is get my hands on a truck and a trebuchet... and someone to wait on the shoreline in Buffalo. I can send it local airmail

@ktrain and anybody else in the Atlanta area, I’ve always had success getting it here. I use the HP:

$42

Check them out.
You forgot to factor in shipping… $42 + 96.39 = $138.39. It all depends on who has a free shipping offer for which ends up being cheaper. But with those costs, it’s just better to buy what is available locally. ProMix isn’t that great.

Thanks Drew, good to know!
I'm 1/2 way through my current bag, that's usually when I start looking.

I forgot to mention the most important piece of real estate the United States needs to acquire. California I'm willing to pay these tariffs Joe if we can just get California back in the Union. LOL and maybe Greenland too.

My be worth checking out their website to find a distributor in your area

Those are some scary prices @Inflorescence I wonder where I'm going to come up with 650 gallons, or so of potting soil. I only have three or 400 gallons on hand currently.
