Trees of Paradise finds

Has anyone grown any of Hussain’s trees other than Yolo Bypass? He lists them on figbid but i haven’t heard anything about them.

I am growing his three Caprifig finds and Discovery Park. Which I believe is a Smyrna type.

I’m growing Fig Forest Center TP-FG-0016, Davis Wildhorse TP-FG-0011, Sacramento River Ditch TP-FG-0020, UCD Caprifig (grows like a beast/cold hardy/dependable).

Fig Forest Center is the most aggressive rooter I’ve ever seen. Growing it in tree form. Trunk is thick and it survived the winter last year. Hopefully some fruits appear this year so I can see if it’s common.

Sacramento River Ditch and Davis Wildhorse are also getting big but no figs yet.

The only early figs I got so far on an experimental fig is on Pink Tie-Dye (from Chato9b). I hand pollinated with UCD Caprifig except the bottom most fig. We’ll see soon.

Found by Trees of Paradise. I have found this tree to produce persistent profichi and mammoni. Have yet to see mamme. But this tree does appear to be truly persistent. This tree should only be labeled as UCD as it was not bred by U.C.Davis.

I have had the scrumptious pleasure of eating @Chato9b Pink Tie Dye. On 2 occasions both times the figs were caprified. He was kind enough to provide a box of fresh ripe figs for @Fig Gazer Does anyone know if this wild find has proven itself to be common yet? it is a delicious fig. You will not be sorry for growing it.

Thanks for the input! I decided to purchase Sac River Ditch, Davis Wildhorse, and El Camino Ave. Hussain seemed to think highly of all of them and we have basically identical climates so i think these may be very good for me. I have a wild tree that regrew in my orchard so i think ill use that for the grafts—they should grow quick.
