This is ridiculous!

It takes a lot of snow for them to cancel school here.... But this was a huge amount. I think the Friday was the first time he every had a snow day.

At my place we got about 75cm (30 inches). Up north of me where @Vitooch1 he got over a meter. So like, 40 inches.

The real issue is that we usually get a snow and it melts. It's stayed cold since we got those 3 days of heavy snow. it was supposed to be below freezing well into March but now it's looking like we'll get some rain early next week. I'm hoping it washes some of this away.

I’d never heard of that storm before, or any snow storm that did that sort of damage. It’s difficult to imagine…. Wow! I’m sure I would remember it form the news of the time if I was a few years older

I remember that storm quite well. We lived in Connecticut. I had my first baby at that time. My daughter was not even a year old yet. My father in law worked for the state highway department and was called in to plow the highway, it was 3days before he came home.

Been hearing about the blizzard of 78 my whole life from my mom and grandpa and aunts, it really left an impression

Thanks.... every few years it happens... It's just a fact of life here. I can't complain. it's been so warm here of late so we were due :)
Yeah... It's been "warm" for the time of year here as well; worked on the RV in my T-shirt today and got a little bit of sunburn in my neck...
74F expected on Thursday...

I really hope some of that "Canadian Perlite" melts off soon... And in all honesty: I'd rather have some White Snow than Black Fig Flies... Sit tight Joe... Spring is just around the corner! (y)
