I'll be honest that I'm comfortable with whatever you wanna send my way. I've got plenty of plants ready to go as rootstock and can use the greenhouse to accelerate growth. And then ship them back to whoever whenever.

That is what I kept telling myself when critters got 4 out of 5 ripe figs today. It can wait. 1-2 less figs this season won’t kill me![]()
I'm happy to chip some money in as wellOnce the group decides which way they wish to go there is $200 funded from the bank of figless, and yes there are Angelito cuttings as well. @Fig Gazer already has Angelito going so that project would need to go to someone else as well. LOL he set me up with the Angelito to get that passed out to Fig fanatic as well
Ondata and Hative seems to be pricey now. When is the best time to take cuttings and graft them? I gotta assume the fall right, because all the growth is green at the moment.going off a few past high dollar sales the list could include white baca, Sicilian 33, lsu st Gabriel, green goblin, cessac. A few others but I’m not remembering many high dollar sales outside of those.
I’ve grafted a handful of cuttings on my well rooted cuttings. The 4x9 would dry out fairly quick so I could control the moisture well. Going off that I would say anytime should work if you can control the conditions they are in. I did plenty in the fall and quite a few recently, the ones with rootstock on the dry side did best while root stock that stayed moist too long pushed a lot of fluid and was harder to maintain a healthy graft. Dormant or not has been the same as long as rootstock and scion are the same. Then again I’m still new to grafting in the grand scheme of things and have a lot of material to play with testing the best way for me. One big factor is the scion be lignified or at least mostly lignified and not fresh green growth.Ondata and Hative seems to be pricey now. When is the best time to take cuttings and graft them? Yea I didn’t think now was the ideal time for sending green cuttings. I only know that because I’m coming off two weeks of losing some expensive green cuttings from my trees I stuck in soil. Won’t be doing that again.I’ve grafted a handful of cuttings on my well rooted cuttings. The 4x9 would dry out fairly quick so I could control the moisture well. Is hative that you’re referencing hative d’ argentil or HdA? If so I’m planning to root several of these this winter from my big tree.Yea I didn’t think now was the ideal time for sending green cuttings. That is a good point Bofig raised. I usually graft to my potted trees or in ground trees so I don't have rootstock trees just for grafting. Having a bunch ready is really important for a project like this.I’ll have a pile of trees just ready to graft in 4x9s a few 8 inch sticks should do a dozen or two lol
Paying that much for a tree, shipping should be on the seller imoMaybe it's just me, I find it funny that the winning bidder has to pay $19.95 in shipping on top of the $2550.
For that much on a fig tree, it almost should be hand delivered. LmaoPaying that much for a tree, shipping should be on the seller imo
