Seed Addicts

I have a gallon ziploc bag in the freezer full of seed packets plus a plastic shoebox full.
Problem is. Some are getting old. I just planted six types of cucumber seeds to see if they are still good.
Looking at the jicama in your list. Reminds me. I need to plant the Ahipa seeds I have and hope they are still good after sitting for two years. :)

Some seeds store rather well, some don't. You would be surprised. It amazes me what nature can sometimes do. I forgot about some PawPaw seeds in the bottom of my fridge three years. Still all had 100% germination rate.

And you didn't see my offer for South Anna Butternut Squash seeds? lol

That is impressive fo sho!
Do you keep a running spread sheet on dates they were harvested or purchased?

Must have missed that.
I sometimes add the harvest date to the packet. I do have a field for it in the spreadsheet.. the other field I have is quantity that i have so I keep track of things i need to collect or order more of for the next year. Once you get to a certain point it is good to know what you have..i also store seeds differently so i also have what type of container they are in. Then, on top of that I have a filing cabinet and each category is in its own drawer. So if I need a herb seed i know they should all be in the herb drawer.
