This is an old pic of a habanero that I grew. It's not from this year. I haven't seen another one with this many colors.

Picked these last night before today's storm. Covered with a row cover to keep pests away and let them ripen to nearly perfection. Sweet, very aromatic, and delicious. Mostly Mara de Bois. Can't find something like this in a store. I feel so fortunate.

I grew habaneros when I was in the Army. I took some to work to see if anyone wanted them. A couple of soldiers decided to see who could eat the most. IIRC one of them ate 3 and the other ate 5. I just remember that guy that ate 5 was bent over holding his stomach and walking to his barracks room groaning the whole way.One year I figured I'd try for fun and grew Trinidad Scorpion, Chocolate Moruga and Butch T. I can't imagine any real use for them outside of bragging rights. I tried eating some... They did a number on my insides....
Those look delicious. We grew habanero one year right beside banana peppers and the banana peppers were so hot you couldn’t hardly stand to eat them…..lol. I agree with @ETXfigs jalapenos are my favorite. I have a bunch of Flatiron pepper flakes that are really good mixes if anyone likes pepper flakes.This is my favourite pepper. It came as a family heirloom. Got it from a guy from Puglia... so I call it Vecchio di Puglia. I would guess around 10,000 SHU + sweetness. I love it.

I cut them up... salt, press and pack them in EVOO with garlic... Good on almost everything!
