I’ve been invaded

I've seen worse--even in my yard. I didn't do anything, and by the grace of gawd the following year not as bad and now I very rarely see them. I don't know if predators have discovered them as food or if the NE winters was just too much for the latern fly to handle. Either case I suppose I lucked out.

I’ve seen news reports stating that bats are eating them.

Dang, I wonder how long before they make it over here.
It really does seem like every year it's something new.

We do have those here.
I first seen them a few years ago.

Stupid question.... But we don't have them here. What do they do to the trees and plants?
Frankly not much. It was worried they'd be a big deal but as of now it seems like only an issue for grape vines.

I just take a shop vac and vacuum them up, then kill once theyre all rounded up by tossing them in the freezer. Then leave em. Out for the birds so they learn to eat them

I can't remember now what it was I threw in the chicken pen they wouldn't eat...

I have seen them eat anything from frogs to acorns to other chickens...but there was a bug or something I threw in that they just left alone.
