ISO a most elusive ficus.

The Afghan's just have really neat leaves.
I am sure I will have male and female's.
The dried figs where really good so I guess the fresh will be as well.
But just like Carica some will be better than other's.
I bought the sycomorus seed's because I want to try other types of fig's.
Also would like to create some hybrid's.
I need more room. :)

Hey @Timmypeapod - you messaged me via email, thought I’d share here as I just joined this forum. Thought I’d share that there is another tree in the collection I acquired that was labeled “FJA China (B)”. It’s likely not the one you’re looking for - but in reading this thread and comparing the pictures I took just before dormancy, I realize it’s probably a Ficus Johannis Afghanistanica of some sort, from China. Pic attached.

I have a couple of varieties from the collection from Iran that I’ll be watching to see if they turn out to be the one you’re looking for. Additionally, there are a few that have reddish branches that you see in pics of the ficus johannis.

I’ve got a couple of cuttings going of both of these that just broke buds. I’ll keep you posted on these and the others as they start leafing out in a few months!

To the readers - the member that @Timmypeapod mentions was a private collector that sold off his collection of 100s of trees that were collected from his travels around the world. I recently acquired half of the collection. I’ll make a separate post in the main forum as an introduction about it!

It’s amazing what some people have in there private collections. Looking forward to hearing and seeing more about this collection.
