Honey Figs

Alma is one of the most syrupy honey figs.
Can have really nice flavors but not considered a great fig by far.
Possibly same as Holy Smokes.

I really Like Alma, Last year was my first year eating them, I recall it being syrupy with each having its eye plugged with honey. Very sweet, sugary, I cant remember if it was more sugary then honey flavor. Either way I want more!

Here are a couple pictures of my Peter’s Honey and Hollier - from the sound of it, I need to let Hollier hang for longer to get to that even more delicious stage, but the squirrels beat me to more than half of them so I get antsy and pick earlier than I’d like…

My whole back yard has shade from large oak trees. I have heard that Hollier doesn't need as much sun light as other varieties and it's a really good tasting honey fig. Anyone have experience with Hollier in limited sun light? If it will do well in the back yard, that would open up so much more room for figs.

AS a lover of honey figs ,i find many suttle diferences in taste ,UNCLE CORKIES HONEY DELIGHT being a stand out !! KADOTA,WHITE MARSALA ,PARADISIO ,LOMPOC PROLIFIC ARE ALL HEAVENLY IF PROPERLY RIPENED ,PETERS HONEY has never impressed and was culled years ago .SUCCRETTE (W) SUPER ! THE LIST GOES ON AND GETS MORE BERRY LIKE AS YOU GO ,THROW IN THE WASP AND "HONEY FIGS" ARE WAY MORE THAN HONEY FLAVORED .!!!

Maybe Peter’s Honey likes the east coast more I’m the same. I like White Marseille and culled Peter’s Honey years ago.

It seems many people have had problems with Peter's Honey. Lou Monti's Peter's Honey tree is a beast. His videos has made me want a Peter's Honey tree, but after reading some of the posts here, I now think there are much better choices for a honey fig.

Yeah I see his videos with his Peter Honey trees. They all look good and he loves that variety.

White Marseilles from an old tree grown in the Bay Area is exceptional. It’s like a honey marshmallow with lemony skin. It’s refreshing on a warm day.

Constantine de algerie and lsu champagne were my two favorite honey figs. Winn 100 was a top fig I got as a free cutting early 2024 but ripened first fig late in season last year.

What about Wuhan?

I have this one, some people say the taste can be a little bland, I found this in the first fruiting year or so but it definitely develops more in flavour the older the tree gets. Quite a unique in colour combo too.

I had thought about getting an LSU Collection together but I’m hearing some aren’t as good. I know I want LSU Strawberry. I just think it will be a good one for my area my girls will like.
