What is the difference between Latterula/Italian Honey, and Peter's Honey? They seem similar but I think one might ripen earlier than the other. Is one better than the other? A local nursery (Bob Wells) has both varieties, 2 year old trees.

Lattarula/Italian Honey is white or clear honey. Pure honey flavor. Peter's Honey has some yellow, amber or even pink tone. So it is more flavorful than Lattarula. Just slightly different flavors. I think both ripen mid season, about the same time.

There's a nursery near me that sells White Marseilles and Pingo de Mel (Drop of Honey) a Portuguese honey fig.

My Peter's Honey died this past winter, my UNK Sicilian is a honey fig that gets yellow/amber pulp, much more vigorous than my Peter's Honey and hardier.

I like white figs, honey figs a lot.

I am growing three different trees called Pingo de Mel.
One from Harvey.
One from portugal
And the Capri Croisic that was also named Pingo de Mel.
Harvey also just started (This year I think) selling another Pingo de Mel.
I should have bought that one to compare.
That name is given to almost any Honey fig in portugal.

If one has the time, patience and space it's a nice little hobby to compare different figs within a group.

I'm interested to try the Constans I have and compare it to my unk Celeste. And I'm also interested in comparing the two unk Etna's I have to the other known Mt Etna's I started rooting this year--it might take a year or two but that's okay.

Part of the reasons why I came to the forums and got some cuttings was because I was tired not knowing or understanding what I had other than dark/black and white figs. I didn't know any of these things.

Space, time and money. I think is what limits most of us.
Can't grow them all. But as a group we can grow many. :)
