Tena TC.
Exactly. But when a national seller is selling Tena as Alma to consumers, you start wondering how much of the population believes they are growing Alma. That is not Alma by far
Very true.Exactly. But when a national seller is selling Tena as Alma to consumers, you start wondering how much of the population believes they are growing Alma.
Lowe’s was selling that variety and Kadota a few years back and their leaf pattern look like Tena.White Marseilles?
I've never seen Tena passed off as Alma, usually it's passed off as White Marseille. The person who provided me this cutting claimed it was Alma. I asked for the name of their supplier, and received it today -- a national online sales corporation. So there it was, pictures of Tena as Alma. Thank you to hambones for the correct ID.

Why Gulbun?Future Figs for 2026: GulbunQudssaya
Just want to try a fig that supposedly tastes like melon! Why Gulbun?![]()
Gulbun is a sixth generation fig from the UC + UCR breeding programs. Ira Condit had retired along with the UC program in 1950 prior to the release of the 4th generation. Gulbun's seed & pollen parents are siblings of Tena, and all three of them have parents Enderud and Calimyrna (Sari Lop). It is an open-eye fig. In your locale, the main crop should produce excellent dried figs -- provided they are not soured by monsoons. The spring crop is said to be very good fresh, a welcome contrast with the poor quality spring figs of Calimyrna. The main crop fresh flavor is light honey with hints of strawberry. When caprified, they also have the nutty flavor of caprified Calimyrna.Just want to try a fig that supposedly tastes like melon!
