Google Street View Horticultural Finds

One of my little hobbies is exploring the world using Google Maps and finding my favorite fruits and how they grow in their natural environments.
If you found something like that, please share here.

Here are some of my finds:

Thats really cool!!
I got bored in the winter last year, and found the Euclid mother tree on Google Street view that Lee Gains is growing now.
Heard on one of his videos in has been cut down, and I think that is a constant concern for allot of trees that can be found this way.

Last night after reading this post, I searched and found old satellite photos on Google Maps of my PopPops house and fig tree that I now grow. Due to poor resolution, it’s unrecognizable as a fig tree if you didn’t know it was planted there. This also led me to wonder if satellite photos can be found of a recent (in)famous fig tree that was demolished during the construction of a church in New Mexico.

Took me a good half hour to find, but I think this might be it:

I know that area around Reggio Calabria. figs everywhere. On the Reggio side of the Straight of Messina... right where the ferry launches, theres a fig tree you can see from the sat image. I picked a fig from it once :)

Check out the road driving up Mt. Etna from the south. Lots of good images. I've got some more. Stand by

Cool! Thanks Joe. I will check those out...

Here is one my favorite finds, where there are multiple snapshots at very different times of a year and you can easily see when the tree there breaks dormancy and leafs out, when figs ripen, how the tree shaped up year over year, etc. very cool....

That's an awesome area! Pomodoro country!

Lots of shade cloth..... LOTS

Driving up from the south to the Amalfi coast, it's very much worth it to leave the coast and the auto strada to check some of these areas out.
