Google Street View Horticultural Finds

This is the most amazing thread I think I have ever read. I've never used Google Maps in this way, and the Italian wild figs completely blew my mind.
Funny enough when you ask people what variety of fig they have, they have no ideas . All they know is that they have one or two crops a year . My uncle has 9 fig trees in his yard ( all different types) and he does know of the variety they are . They are part of our landscape like maple trees are to Canada .

My friend in Florida who gave me my fist ever fresh fig from her tree she was Italian from the Naples region, when I asked her what kind of fig it was I got the same answer I see other people from Italy say “ white fig, purple fig, green fig, etc etc” 🤣🤣

Up in Palermo, we have both the fig types... the dark ones and the white ones...

There's a good restaurant not far from here called La Rotonda. Good food. Family friendly. The seafood antipasti are classic Sicillian.

I'm not sure that I would like real Mediterranean seafood, ever since I saw someone eating octopus on a cooking show, Lol. And I have only been to Italy once but I don't think it counts. On the way to Iraq, the plane stopped in Rome to refuel.
