Big Box Store Figs Have Arrived

I agree with prior statement of not true to type...most you can tell.
Vdb's are usually easy to recognize and Mt etnas....other not so much.
We do get some here at HD, no Lowes in my town.

The Lowe’s by me carries Chicago hardy all summer and every few weeks they would get a few other types in on each order. Desert king, Olympian, little Ruby, etc. they were all tissue cultures in 1 gallon containers. I got a desert king last year and it was not true to type as I got main crop off of it in a non wasp area, very berry taste.. I am not to worried as i enjoyed the fruit and that is why i am growing fruit trees. Below are some pics of the fruit.

I found one fig at the end of the season at HD last year. I think it was a Brown Turkey hidden next to the boxwoods and other decorative stuff.
Me too! I have lots of varieties but not a BT since it kind of gets a bad rap. But it was a 3 gallon pot for almost nothing. So how could I pass it up?

Is that Chicago Hardy instead? Lucky that I didn't get their Desert King last year! I considered to get one, but decided to wait.
