completed 17th graft of the season today .Usually make 100++ grafts a year but only grafting gift cuttings,and moving potted var.to frankinfigs and a couple for freinds .. SO almost done already .AS a aside the reason my cuttings grow so well is that they have never been below 40 degress and are already full of nutricious sap ,ready to go asap ! At least that is my thoughts on the subject ?

I did 3 today. Finally think I figured out fig grafting.
When it really counted. Very Happy. :)
 
I tried grafting figs before but failed and I did not know what went wrong so I have not tried to do it again. I keep saying I will look into it so I can do it again but there are not enough hours in a day for me to research where I messed up and do everything else I need to accomplish.

Please explain to me the kits for reverse engineer whip & tough grafts....
 
To do a good W&T graft you need the following materials :sharp grafting knife,parafilm ,grafting rubber bands,splints and streachy grafting tape . so would put enough of these materials in "kit". ALSO a completed W & T graft on a 8" CUTTING TO BE TAKEN APART (REVERSE ENGINERING) PLUS A ILLISTRATED STEP BY STEP SET OF INSTRUCTIONS.THIS IS THE HANDS ON WAY TO LEARN W & T SHORT OF INPERSON INSTRUCTION. IF YOUR NOT A CLUTZ GO TO: J SACADURA GRAFTING VIDEO AND WATCH IT MANY TIMES AND PRACTICE ,PRACTICE,PRACTICE ! NEVER CUT TOWORD YOUR SELF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For new grafters or occasional grafters invest in a pair of cut proof gloves. Grafting knives are sharp!

Any recommendations? Home Depot ones works? Or need uline ?
ANSI/ISEA Cut Rating: A2-A5 which is better? The smaller # or bigger #?

I always cut toward myself. Kinda have to in my line of work.
Good thing is I am not a clutz :)
