My English Brown Turkey cutting that you sent me is doing pretty good. No leaves yet. It has little green buds, but it is in the top 3 out of 12 for most roots.@Red_Sun we have some English brown turkey cuttings. They are supposed to have large fruit, and have a mild flavor of peaches? Do you have any interest in those cutting? They're definitely a different variety than the American brown turkey version.
HaHa, when I picked the cuttings I knew nothing about the different fig varieties. I remember trying to research the ones on the list and realized that was going to take too long. I think I started picking ones that were not difficult to pronounce. Lol you were probably looking at the list and thinking why did he pick that one. Now I'm kinda glad that you were all out of most of my first choices because I ended up getting some good ones that I wouldn't have chosen. For example, I got two CdD varieties and some other good ones.EBT or English brown turkey has not been a often selected variety in @TorontoJoe free cutting giveaway. Probably because of the misunderstanding of what it is. I was glad to see you selected it because it is a large, and flavorful Fig. We have several cuttings left. Actually the variety that most resembles English brown turkey is not American brown turkey. It's Olympian. Olympian is likely A descendant, or variant of EBT.
How did they taste?LSU Gold
Good for a honey fig. But the first few years, nothing special. Also, as the tree aged, the interior color darkened. How did they taste?
Beautiful figs. I have a LSU Gold cutting that I’m trying to root. Seeing your pictures I’m really hoping it roots successfully.LSU Gold
Is the tree in ground or pot?Good for a honey fig. But the first few years, nothing special. Also, as the tree aged, the interior color darkened.
It is an in ground tree.Is the tree in ground or pot?
It's a San Pedro type, right? So you probably wouldn't get main crop unless you were in fig wasp zoneI rooted Fiorone Di Ruvo this year just to see if I can get a massive 200G+ breba. I didn't really have any intentions of growing it out for main crop or anything else, just want to hold a massive fig on my hand one time. Although I guess main crop can be sizeable (100G+) as well. Might be wishful thinking lol
