Got good news today

I was able to get 3 cuttings of Augusta Purple. They were of very high quality. I also ordered some other cuttings and 1/2 were very nice, and half were dried out and looked dead.

Sorry to hear that about the latter cuttings hopefully they pull through.

Bill was really nice and combined my 2 orders and issued a refund for the extra shipping. It's rare sellers go to the trouble of doing that! It's much appreciated.

On another note, where's all the people growing Augusta Purple??? I'm surprised this one has not been spread around more. It looks like a fantastic variety.

I don't know anyone growing it up here. I'd love to give it a try.

I hear ya...especially if you look on social media...new names popping up every day. lol
 
I actually don't browse social media at all. I find it a lot easier on forums or figbid, or hearing from friends/associates to find figs. Social media is harder to assess 'reality'. You have people like the LSU Cherry Bomb guy promoting an obvious scam. He's an easy spot for me, but many others talking up 'new' figs might be more difficult to spot for me.
 
The only reason I am on any social media is because I have 2 kids in Wisconsin.
You know...if you want to keep contact, you have to use what they use.
The fig friends on there is just a bonus. :)

I'd do the same.... My only one is still 12 so I have him locked down for at least a few more years
