What is a good potting soil?

I got a yard of super blend soil yesterday for our raised garden beds. I also have been mixing it in my blend for pots. They have a potting soil mix there I noticed that looked pretty good I might get a yard of to try. $32 for a truck bed full would be nice!

Exactly what I was about to say.

That’s no joke. I had to order 4cu ft of course perlite as there is nowhere near here that stocks it. Shipping was basically 1.5x the cost of the perlite.

Amazon and the like have been amazing for convenience…. But in some ways I think we’ve also shot ourselves in the foot. So many stores, even just don’t stock lots of goods anymore. Especially niche items. So we have no choice but to have stuff shipped. I live in a big city. I can only imagine it’s more difficult in a smaller community.

Lately I’m seeing places charge to have stuff shipped to the store. So you have to pay for shipping… and go pick it up 🫤

Yea I live in a smallish place, about 10k population give or take. The bad part is it’s an oilfield town or was so there isn’t too much diversity of what’s here and the nearest decent sized city is an hr and a half away so it’s a drive to get anything close to niche. The only store I could find that had the perlite had to have it shipped to the store and was literally the same price as product and shipping so meh.🫤
