Yes, it IS way too dry - I learned from @387PETE that Cherry Cordial USA water hog, so I went and checked it. Sure enough, even though the other ones popped down the same day are fine, this one was totally dry as a bone.

I am going to up pot it to a tree pot using the same media (promix yellow bag or promix hp). I could probably go to a large larger size, but I’m using tree pots for the up pot because of space considerations inside the house.

I plan on adding some retain crystals to my 5 gal when I uppot it

Good luck be careful, I found that sometimes when they are dry they are easier to handle because they seem to hold their shape once you open the bag, they dont crumble

open at this point. No heatmat anymore. they were until they rooted out but they ahve roots now so i pulled them off the heat

i keep mine on heat and even put them back on heat after uppotting the pop for a few days to a week depending on how they grow. 70 ambient with no heat mat and low humidity is slowing you down in my opinion
 
Well, last year was my first year rooting anything. I chose the sand method, laying horizontally in a covered shoebox and had an 80% success rate. I transplanted them into tree pots but didn't like that I couldn't see the roots. This year I am transplanting into 32 oz clear cups from Amazon. Best decision for me. Some have been concerned about the transition from the high humidity in the box to the regular air but I have only had one that lost leaves but then caught up and put on new shoots.

This year I also experimented with coco coir in a shoe box and lightly covered only the bottom end and again great success. When they are in cups I check moisture with a cheap moisture meter. I used powdered rooting hormone and heat mat set at 77 for all.

It seems that fig cuttings just want to grow and there are so many options to rooting them. This is just what has worked for me.
 
Nice fat juicy roots starting on NSDC, fig popped on 12/27.

I was actually worried that this might rot on top, since the stems were still on it and very thick and green, but authentic parafilm has the perfect breathability quotient, and they were totally fine!

I wonder if it took a little longer since NSDC is a later season variety (something I seem to be noticing)?

I started my cuttings on December 25th-26th. Now into their 4th week, roots are starting to look good. I have around 30 cuttings going at the same time. 26 out of 30 cuttings have rooted, the ones that dont have any roots showing are Corynth and VDN vr.

1- I did the 4-1-1 method with the soil. 4 parts Promix HP, 1 part perlite and 1 part water.
2-Put an inch or two of perlite at the bottom of the cup for easy water drainage.
3-I soaked some cuttings for a day and some half a day. Towards the end used hydrogen proxide for 30 minutes. 4 parts water to 1 part proxide.
4-To seal the top of the cuttings I used liquid electrical tape and let them dry.
5-Scratched a bit of the bottom and brushed on clonex gently. Let the cutting dry.
6-Used a stick in similar thickness to the cuttings to make a hole in the soil and pushed the cutting in the clear cups.
7-Put the cup into the produce bag and closed it shut with an elastic or a scotch tape (if the cutting is thin). Left the top node of the cutting out of the bag.
8-Put a dummy cup just like the ones im using in a produce bag and the temp probe just under the soil line. Set the temp at 80F

They started showing roots in 10-15 days. First buds would pop than a day or two later roots would show up. I'm not using any lights yet and I havent watered. Soil still looks moist enough for at least another week.
