Christmas weather

I'm going to pick some ripe figs tomorrow.

I have to say that when I posted this weather report and said that I'm going to pick ripe figs, I was not trying to boast. I have been wanting my trees to go dormant for a few weeks. They were just going dormant, about half the leaves have fallen off, and now we got this warm weather. The trees don't know what to do. I picked some ripe figs today but I doubt they will taste very good.

Hey if they taste good nobody would blame you for bragging alittle. I know I wouldn’t complain if I got tasty December figs.

They did not taste good. I got two I-258 and three VdB. The smallest VdB that was drying on the tree, was not bad. It wasn't really very good either. They just aren't sweet enough and I want them to go dormant.

I will take the mild weather over cold rain and low temps which chills you all the way to the bone. January and February are our coldest months of the year. Once we get to middle February, it may or may not start to warm up and figs will start showing green tips. Figs will start breaking bud in March and fig season will finally start over. Woohoo only 3 more months.
