Leave it to Beav

I chalk this one up to my fault, I should have put something around the bottom to protect it.

This is/was my apple tree...it was already here when I bought the house.
Not sure of the variety and it didn't produce any apple except the first year.
No pollinator around.
So he sort of did me a favor in a way.
Still, I have had it with him...he has taken down a Cherry, Peach, Plum, Pear, & now Apple tree.

I am going to go Liam Neeson on this critter.

One thing I don’t understand, don’t beavers usually drag the cut down trees to the river, stream or pond to build their dam? Why did he leave it in the yard?

So in similar fashion, after you take down the 🦫, will there be a dismembering 🔪 a couple nights later?
Honestly I was reading the laws here in Georgia about Beaver snuffing, and seen an article where they compared the quality of Beaver meat to Beef & Pork....long as you take out the glands, where ever they are.

Not sure I want to give it a go. lol

i would doubt this. just cause ive had boar meat and even with the glands removed its horrible. the hormones get all thruout the meat. now the fur is very high quality. I mean id give it a taste cause why not.

But also id just fence your trees up better. sucks but it seems like you got a beaver with a taste for fruit building materials

Maybe LOTS of seasoning is the trick lol
Interesting about Boar meat...seems tons of people hunt them for the meat, and to reduce population of course.
I will be putting some hareware cloth one a few today.

I am pretty sure they only eat the young males and any female. Boar taint is legit vile. Its why we castrate any males used for food in pigs

Well...I have been reading even more articles about beaver meat...lol

I am slightly intrigued, some of the pics of prepared crock pot meals and roasts look very good.
Reading reviews you would think it should be on menus all over. :)

I'd probably try it

I have a few like that in the pond, nice one.
I heard turtles have more meat in them than you would think, especially around the center length of the shell.
Was that the case?
A lot of meat. But the big ones like the one I posted are very hard to clean. Then you have to boil the meat for awhile before actual cooking to soften it up.
