I have heard someone online say it is like field dressing a dinosaur.
Yup it’s my understanding only young and small ones. Leave the others alone.I am pretty sure they only eat the young males and any female. Boar taint is legit vile. Its why we castrate any males used for food in pigs
Lol...you'll be all good unless you get a place with a body of water on it.That's just wild. Remind me of this if I start looking for property in your area lol.
when i tell you this is a high requirement for a future piece of land. rethinking things.... but also the dogs love to swimLol...you'll be all good unless you get a place with a body of water on it.![]()
Well they aren't difficult to get rid of.when i tell you this is a high requirement for a future piece of land. rethinking things.... but also the dogs love to swim
When I lived in Florida the snakes we had were both diamond back and pigmy rattlers. I’m sure there’s snakes in Virginia but I’ve never come across one yet.Well they aren't difficult to get rid of.
But...the noise of frogs is almost deafening in the evening lol
Snakes are a big thing we deal with, mostly rat snakes though...the big ones!
Also the deer like to come drink here so they're constantly hanging around.
Pro....we don't get a lot of mosquitos because of the dragon fly population, and bats.
If it weren't for the pond, we probably wouldn't see many. When I lived in Florida the snakes we had were both diamond back and pigmy rattlers. I’m sure there’s snakes in Virginia but I’ve never come across one yet.
I almost forgot we had these other two snakes in Florida, King snake, Coral snake. King was not deadly Coral is deadly. Personally I wouldn’t stick around long enough to see which one I was looking at.If it weren't for the pond, we probably wouldn't see many.
So far in 8 yrs, only 2 poisonous...rest were rat snakes....and a couple earth snakes.

We had those king snakes up in Indiana too, beautiful.I almost forgot we had these other two snakes in Florida, King snake, Coral snake. King was deadly Coral was not. They have a slogan to tell the difference… Black touches red your dead, if red touches yellow he’s a good fellow. Personally I wouldn’t stick around long enough to see which one I was looking at.
First pic is king 2nd pic is coral

My friend in north carolina just got bit by a copperhead in her garden. Keep an eye outWhen I lived in Florida the snakes we had were both diamond back and pigmy rattlers. I’m sure there’s snakes in Virginia but I’ve never come across one yet.
Even though I’m in the inner city of Staunton there’s plenty of deer, skunks, raccoons, groundhogs in every one’s yards. My friend in north carolina just got bit by a copperhead in her garden. Keep an eye out![]()
Reminds me of an Italian delicacy called Soufrette,(think that’s how it’s spelled) it’s cow heart that’s simmered in a tomato sauce for several hours till it’s very tender but before you do that it’s got to be boiled in water for some time then diced up and cooked in the sauce till very tender. Years ago it was originally cow heart and lungs cooked together but they stopped selling the lungs because of air pollution. I haven’t had that in a long time. Never see cow hearts here in Virginia.A lot of meat. But the big ones like the one I posted are very hard to clean. Then you have to boil the meat for awhile before actual cooking to soften it up.
Heck year...the hide extremely well!My friend in north carolina just got bit by a copperhead in her garden. Keep an eye out![]()
The old timers never let anything go to waste - all parts nose to tail were used in some sort. My Grandmother used to make Studzienina (jellied pigs feet) and Kiszka (blood sausage) for my Father. The taste and texture never sat right with me though.Reminds me of an Italian delicacy called Soufrette,(think that’s how it’s spelled) it’s cow heart that’s simmered in a tomato sauce for several hours till it’s very tender but before you do that it’s got to be boiled in water for some time then diced up and cooked in the sauce till very tender. Never cooked with lungs. But I think I can get them here. I know they do sell the hearts.Reminds me of an Italian delicacy called Soufrette,(think that’s how it’s spelled) it’s cow heart that’s simmered in a tomato sauce for several hours till it’s very tender but before you do that it’s got to be boiled in water for some time then diced up and cooked in the sauce till very tender.
