Sister Madeline's Green Greek

Today's harvest of Sister Madeline's Green Greek. Cutting started in February and now its 7ft tall. Very vigirous grower.
When cutting was growing it quickly put out 4 figs. First one dropped, second one half of it was attacked by ants but I wasnt gonna let them take it all.. I ate the other half and it tasted really good. First time ever an ant attack on my figs. Now just had the third fig and I must say WOW!! What a great tasting fig. Im surprised its not talked about too much. It tastes really close to Angelito.
Its smaller in size but great in taste, maybe size will get bigger as tree ages.

You will be very please with the taste. It is a very vigorous grower for me, from and 8 inch stick to a 7 ft tall tree in 6 months.

Highly underrated fig. The fruit will increase as the tree matures and I am getting fruit within the 50-70g range.

I was hoping to get some of these, the wasps and bees are attacking them before they even start to ripen.

They must feel that its a very sweet fig.
I never had an ant attack before until this fig was attacked, and it turns out they know what they are doing.

Hangtime is normal, about 5-7 days and for my zone, they are early, so beginng of july.

Damn! That’s a high split rate. How does WM1 do there ?

WM1 So far this year 10 figs 3 split Harry Crete all split but great taste.

Is that one caprified? I got to taste mine a few weeks ago, tried to keep it hanging on tree but one day it just dropped haha

Are they being grown in pots or in ground? Are they fluctuating from very dry soil to wet over a short period of time?

No, mine isn't caprified but as you can see in the picture I let it hang for a good while.

Beginning of July.... That's a dream for me here. I was in Sicily and Calabria most of July but I totally missed the figs. The breba were early and gone and I was too early for the mains...
