Pasquale/Vernino - very late variety

There is not much info on this variety online. I do know it's very late (December), so that limits it to warmer zones, of course - it seems to be popular in California. I was skeptical of ever tasting fruit on this tree, given I am in Zone 8A, but I have hope! This tree is bursting with large figs, and it appears one of them may ripen by late August/September - could it breba?

This was the only blurb I found online:

"The Pasquale Fig tree, also referred to as the “Vernino,” is the latest fruiting of all varieties, and produces a small purple fruit with a reddish-strawberry pulp that ripens in December and January. Sweet and rich, its fruit is also delicate and susceptible to frost damage."

Fig Database has it listed as Vernino:

Anyone growing this variety by chance?

This 2nd-year tree was gifted to me by @ktrain, thank you sir!

You're welcome my friend.
I know I could never find much info about it either.
I believe it was still pretty young when I brought it out.
I do remember getting some figs from it though, and that they tasted pretty good.
But as we all know, they get better as they age. :)
Looking forward to seeing some ripe ones.

Here are some ripe ones, finally! Unfortunately, the taste is fairly watered down, thanks to our heavy rains, but I can tell it's going to be a winner on a better day!

If we're talking about the pasquale, it was sent to me as a gift tree along with the one I purchased.
I did not have room for it so I took it to the frolic.
There is a chance it may not be true.
If that is the case I apologize Costa.
I should have made sure before passing it along.
I may have to notes as to who gifted it to me.
Might take some digging though.
I had no prior experience with that variety.

I got a tree from a friend that was huge, it was labeled Pasquale unk, I had no info on it but the source said his trees were all correct. I did share many cuttings for cost of shipping of this last fall and had not fruited myself. Everyone was on the other side(OF) but not sure how many converted to here. Mine are coming close to ripening so I’ll know what it looks like and can match up to anyone that got from me.

Look up verdolino and see if the leaves match.
Did a search online and I am seeing 2 very different leaf patterns, so I have no idea which one is correct.

Some pictures show the traditional 5-lobe style, and others show a single/broad leaf with small serrated edges.

Can you post a leaf photo from your tree?

Yeah I'm trying to figure out who sent it me and what the fig was I purchased.
I’m trying to keep info private as I’m not sure the guy wants his name out there. I’ll pm you the info I got and the source from who my friend got from.
