Yep, I succumbed to the Siren Song of FigBid, and there's no turning back now...Lots of really good varieties in that list.

I'm not sure how many either. I lost a few varieties as cuttings, but learned some things, too. Like never, ever putting anything else in the room that might even remotely harbor fungus gnats.

I grew some adriatic fig trees from seeds and after doing some research it led me here! =D
Now I just need to figure out how to find some cuttings since I discovered growing from seeds is not the usual way to go.. XD

Cuttings you say? Stay tuned. We have a little program for new members... We got a bunch of cuttings donated to the forum and giving them away for cost of shipping. Like $11.
You should be hearing from a member by the name of Figless pretty soon. He's handling the distribution. Let me know if you don't inside a week. I think he's travelling to his grandsons graduation.
In the mean time, please make yourself at home. We like to have a lot of fun... but I think you'll find the experience here pretty amazing. Especially when it comes to the really specific things like seedling, caprifigs and non carica etc.

I have a propagation student from the Netherlands that was from a Facebook group. Maybe I can get in touch with them as well. We kind of lost touch when I joined FigFanatic. It would be nice to have a Netherlands membership section. There are always tips, sources, and gatherings that can and should be shared with one another. After all @TorontoJoe told me when I joined that.

As an addendum to my short introduction yesterday, the start of my fig adventure. It started with the purchase of some hardwood cuttings in Germany and the Netherlands. Instead of wrapping them in wax tape/ parafilm, I dipped the upper 2/3 of the cutting in special wax for the treatment of scions, used in tree nurseries. The treated cuttings were in the fridge from February 1st until April 1st.
