The coldest night so far

I think in the 10 years I've lived here in North Georgia, we saw it dip down to 8° one time.
I believe that has just been in the last year or two.
But normally we are above 20°.
I do remember going outside when I lived in Indiana and throwing warm water in the air to watch it freeze before it hit the ground.
I cant handle that crap anymore. 😂

My phone app has changed again it’s now saying -1°F For Monday and 1°F for Tuesday. I really want to see what temps register on the thermometer in the shed Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. My fig trees are overwintering in there. We ordered the shed to be completely insulated and it is. It’s just not a heated one.

Are you going to put a small heater in there or let it be?

As much as it would make converting easier, I’m hoping we never get down to -40c / -40f it’s not worth it!

My low this week shouldn’t get below 8F or so…. I haven’t heater in the garage and the shed on a thermostat. It’s sitting steady at 2c (36f) so luckily the heater isn’t running much if at all. It’ll generally never freeze in there if nobody opens the door on cold days.

Have to let it be, there’s no electricity in it.
An extension cord and a 40 or 60w standard lightbulb will do the trick if you need. Especially if the shed is insulated. I’ve done this in my uninsulated shed and it made a surprising difference. Food for thought.

I’d be interested to see the insulated shed at some point. That would be handy

Next week is going to be rough here. We are busy preparing for it. I'm trying to protect the figs but this is going to be tough. This will be the 3rd winter in a row that we will see single digit (F) temps here in Zone 8-A.
