I have to if I want to eat figsWho is planning an early start for the 2025 season? What is the plan?
- wake up date?
- grow room setup and location?
- lights, reflective materials, etc…?

I've learned the hard way to be careful. GFCI on the heaters and lots of supervision. And you're quite correct, sometimes it's not easy.It is not easy to keep these greenhouses hot enough in March in your climate, and one has to be careful so they don’t catch fire (… more than one thing must go awfully wrong for that to happen, I guess).
What kind of electric heater do you use?

I plan on doing this with my in ground trees also. Last year didn’t get my first ripe fig until sept 28. Would like to shave 3-4 weeks off of that. I’ll try with electric heater but may add a diesel heater if needed.I'm hoping to start in early March this year. Basically the same plan as previous years but earlier.... Pop the temporary greenhouses up over the in-ground trees and shove as many potted trees in there as I can fit. Electric heat on thermo-switches.
Warm water on the in-ground tree roots every few days.
It's a PITA, but it works.

They look happy in there. Mine end up crammed in so tight I often have to just unzip and spray in from outside the door to water them.I found it much beneficial to build my greenhouse mid March. I’m able to enjoy all of my figs early or late varieties. I also do the hot water bath. I bunch them up all in a 5 x 5 temporary greenhouse until end of May with a fan and a heater. I do this every year.

Oh yea! I know, it can get full in there but that’s the best way to do it.They look happy in there. Mine end up crammed in so tight I often have to just unzip and spray in from outside the door to water them.

Mostly my garden seedlings. Tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, cucuzza, cucumbers and some others. I grow loads of basil…. Lately I’m crazy for bronze fennel.Gotta keep the basil growing as well as the figs. Hard to tell from the photo.
What else is growing in the white pots?
Can you tell me about the cucuzza? I heard of it and have been meaning to look into it.Mostly my garden seedlings. Tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, cucuzza, cucumbers and some others. I grow loads of basil…. Lately I’m crazy for bronze fennel
I have not had it in years but very good and very usefulCan you tell me about the cucuzza? I heard of it and have been meaning to look into it.
Don't forget to mention you can eat the tendril's as well. Soup's, Salad's or how ever you feel.Aggressive annual from southern Italy. (Aka serpent of Sicily)Makes huge amounts of food in poor soil. Hard to kill and vines on my shorter season can grow 30m in either direction. Has distinct male and female flowers. If you hand pollinate you can be up to your ears in these.
