Ive been wanting i258... one years cuttings turned out to be something amazing but that is not i258, not sure what it is... one of those same cuttings i gave the largest pot, a yellow sugary honey fig ...
so i got cuttings from two sources last year and i rotted all of them
I Would love to swap for a tried and true 258.. I suspect that the white Madeira i got from the first ones that sold me i258 cuttings, Herman, may actually be i258...but in pots ao far they rioen after the first freezes ... i replaced WM last year and still feeling the void

Be careful what you wish for lol. Not complaining, but you start wanting a new variety or two then you make some friends and bam half your livingroom is covered in cuttings.
it’s rude to turn down gifts and plus who can turn down those cuttings. They all look so nice and have so much potential, you just have to turn them into a tree. Then you have to keep the trees because they are sentimental and who waste a food producing tree right?

So far all four of the cuttings I got from @Kompakfigs have rooted and are off to the races....
I think I asked about the acronym before, and got the same answer, but, at the risk of revealing my stupidity, uh....how does it work?

The cutting program? The hmfic’s usually(my first year so take with a grain of salt) come up with contest with set prizes/cuttings. Everyone but our moderators(I believe) can participate. May have seen some of the leftover cuttings from the contest sent out for shipping. Not 100% sure as there are many generous members giving away cuttings and it may have just been them doing their thing. If you are asking about the donating cutting part of it welll… there’s a small list of regulations for that and I’ll let one of the program people lay that out for you.
