Dr Gowaty appears to be the show out this year so far. I need to up pot it. The wind keeps blowing it over. Last year I had Celeste ripen a lot of figs all at once, and VdB ripened over a long period of time. Does anyone know how Dr Gowaty does it, all at once or spread out over a longer period of time? It looks like it will be all at once. How are the breba? It has a few breba and one of them is swelled and turning soft. I think it is an Atreano type.

I have not grown that one. But it looks like you are going to have figs over a long period.
See many baby figs pushing out. Nice looking tree man.
You are right. Now that I look at it and take into account all the little figlets, I see what you mean. I'm still learning how these things grow. I didn't do any pruning last winter but next winter I am going to prune some because I have a better idea how they grow. There were two that I cut the tops off last summer because they were growing like whips and even though I did that last summer, it appears to be beneficial to them this season. Here is one I have never pruned and am definitely going to prune next winter. It's I-258. I guess I should chop both sides down to shorter single trunks.

Not a bad fig, I grew it for a few years.
I like the leaves on it.
And it did seem like a really good producer, as you can see. lol

One from Israel, doesn't seem like there is a whole lot from there.

When I asked the question about how long will it ripen figs, I should have mentioned that although it has some small figs, the tree has stopped pushing out new green growth. I mentioned that my VdB produced figs over a long period of time. It was actually forming new figlets while it was ripening main crop figs, but that tree never had as many figs on it as Dr Gowaty has right now. The VdB set it's pace for the long run. Some trees do more of a sprint. I think this Dr Gowaty will ripen them a little spread out because it does have some small new figs but it also has stopped forming new figlets. Unless it starts growing new green growth and forming figlets, what is on the tree will be all it will ripen. Sometimes up potting can kick start growth. I put it in a bigger pot yesterday so maybe it will start growing again. I really shouldn't be disappointed if it doesn't. Would it be right to expect more out of this tree than what it is doing? It seems that expecting a tree to keep pushing out new growth while it has this many figs, might be asking to much. Maybe that is a goal that I should try to achieve. Seems like something a very mature inground tree might do. If I had a breeding program, maybe VdB+DrGowaty= super fig production. 🤣

You have far too many figs on that tree! 😲
