I just found my car mirror cover missing after going to an oil change yesterday. Just off chance that it dropped near the house, I walked around to check and found this suspicious looking rock in the middle of the road. Looks like it needs a lift. 😃IMG-20250530-WA0010.jpeg

ps. I missed inserting the last Happy Ending pic.

I’ve heard you’re supposed to move the turtle across the tree in the same direction it was originally headed. I have couple turtles that hang out in my yard, but I live on a cul de sac so i don’t really move them. They’re certainly not the snapping kind!

Hmm, it was facing the T junction where the stop sign was. May be it was waiting for traffic to clear. I thought it may be someone's pet but judging from the amount of mud and algae on it's back, it probably lives in a shaded pond somewhere. Not sure which neighbor has a shaded pond. If it were a pet, its owner hadn't given it a bath or checkup for a while.

From a distance, I thought it was the mirror cover I lost. 😁

It was pretty agile and snappy once I approached it. I decided to get the gloves because I still like my fingers.

Turtle this size is tough enough to fend for itself. My worry is always with the babies. That bunny I saw last night is likely to be someone/something's meal. We had a wild cat which wiped out the rabbit population single handedly.

In the early spring this year when it was still kinda cold, I found a turtle under a pile of leaves in the flower bed. I thought the turtle was dead but I wasn't sure if turtles hibernate so I put it back and covered it up with leaves. About 3 weeks later it had warmed up more and I checked under the leaves and the turtle was gone. Living by a lake we get lake wild life along with the horrible swarms of mosquitos. Last year we had ducks attracted to the bird seeds that fall out of the bird feeder and an occasional water snake.
