Which would you gift?

I have a friend with a birthday this weekend and for a gift I’m going to give him one of my fig plants and plant it in ground for him. He’s in Annapolis, MD pretty near water and there are many well established fig trees I’ve noticed in his neighborhood, so I know they can do well in ground there (USDA 8a apparently)

He does not know anything about figs and probably has never tasted one…

Which would you guys give between the following:
LSU Hollier
Unk Prosciutto
Mt Etna (unk)

I feel like any of these could be decent choices and have them at good size already, just don’t know what would be the ideal choice for a non-fig person.

I don't have the three you mention. But I would think Unk P if you want him to become hooked on figs. A good Etna should produce a lot and be very reliable. Don't know much about Hollier

For taste Unknown Prosciutto for productivity Hollier or Unknown Etna.

LSU Hollier - for a friend you associate with every now and again.

I'd go with Etna. Workhorse producer that will ripen early in good weather in MD. Once they get a taste and say how great they are you can tell them you have another named UP that tastes even better and they will want a 2nd tree.

Same zone Maryland, I planted Green Ischia for a newby friend and next plan to give Hollier for entirely different taste.

That's my sentiment exactly....the UP would be the next step enticement.

Etna if they are willing to wait until it is properly ripened (wrinkled). UP if they would be looser with picking (less SWD issues, longer picking window with good flavor). I must say that I’m assuming that UP may be similar to other Adriatics I grow, which may not be true.

Oh yes prosciutto is definitely in the Adriatic grouping

Unk Prosciutto, no doubt! Unless you have a special Mt Etna or your friend hates berry.
