You can see it dark purple up top but it's pretty much pitch black on the lower half. Nice.

I had Carr which was a Mission type and it was really dark.

In my collection it's Galicia Negra.

Same plate of figs. 6 o’clock on the first image and 7 o’clock on the second. Vasile’s (VS) strain of Negretta. When you let it shrivel on the tree it is BLACK (and delicious). When it’s younger it kind of looks like RDB 1-2 o’clock in the first image.

Thanks @grasshopper ! That one is Perla Nera, also known as Black Pearl.
It was a good fig and very sweet for me.
Perla Nera is one of many Francesco Lorusso's fig varieties in Italy

Exactly! Such a dramatic look when it's fully ripe.

Definitely just dark in color! Perla Nera is quite the happy fig, especially when it ends up on a plate.

Good guess Kevin! but it's not a Mission. It's Perla Nera, the skin gets even darker than most Missions I’ve seen
