What did you eat today that you grew?

I got some indigo treat haskap berries yesterday! The very first berries form my garden! I'm surprise that you are so far behind. Do you have late varieties?
Yes I forgot about haskaps as well, some of the best choices for early tasty berries. Love the frosts don’t phase them at all.

Have you ever cooked radishes? One year I had too many at once and a friend from wales told me to saute them cut up in quarters. They are good kinda like turnips if you like them.

Oh! Oh! Oh!

I had way too many french dressing radishes last season. I didn't know what to do with them so I pickled them just like cucumbers. Dill and garlic etc. They were amazing! I ate them all. They're especially good in a savoury beverage! ;)

I had way too many french dressing radishes last season. I didn't know what to do with them so I pickled them.... Never thought of that either. Sounds good! Since I learned about cooking them I pick up extra at the grocery store to cook sometimes since it's really too hot to grow them here. I brought them to a thanksgiving meal and ever one thought the were so fancy. Lol that six dollars worth of radishes went a long way with some herbs and the were pretty too. I have got to try them pickled now! Those would look really pretty too!

I will be cutting a leaf or two off of my elephant garlic and from my other true garlic plants for my salad today. I love greens and am just learning about growing them myself in my yard. Raspberries are ripening and wild blackberries are ripening some here and there. But not reliable enough to keep in my yard, gonna replace them with some known cultivars.
As for figs they are barely half sweet pea size now and will be around August before they start ripening probably.
Definitely need to start seed indoors ahead of time next year, should be eating tomatoes now but they are just blooming now
