Welcome... everyone!

@zone5b-foodforest

I sense you have a few cold days ahead. Me too! :)
Coldest day of the season was yesterday. -18F with wind chills of -30! It is going to stay in negatives(lows) for a week here so I am curious if any of my in-ground figs will survive their top growth. I have them pinned to the ground and mulched with leaves and it has snow cover too which should help. I have few thermometers with my CH and Florea which show they stayed at 17 and 12 when it was -18 in the outside thermometer. So I am hoping their top growth survived. Fingers crossed!

@zone5b-foodforest Welcome. What kind of stuff you growing there? :)
I don't have much space in my backyard, so probably will need to get rid of some! I currently have in-ground:

1. CH (5 year) -> Figs last 3 years
2. Celeste (4 year) -> no figs yet
3. Brown Turkey (3 year)
4. Florea (2nd year) -> 1 fig last year
5. Olympian (2 year)
6. Green Michurinska (2nd year)
7. Long D'Aut (2nd year)
8. VdB (2 year)
9. RdB (2 year)
1 year directly rooted cutting in-ground:
10. Campeneire
11. MBVS
12. Sao Miguel Roxo
Pots:
13. Col de dama Blanca Negra
New cuttings rooted:
14. RLBV

New cuttings to root:
----
1. Moro De Caneva
2. Teramo
3. Sals
4. St.Rita
5. Hollier
6. Des Tres Ples
New cuttings for Pots:
----
1. Smith
2. I-258
3. White Madeira #1
4. Rockaway Green
5. Strawberry Verte
6. Col de dama Gegantina

I think I have too many but it is so hard not to get new ones in Winter :-)

I am hoping to see what varieties others have had success with in-ground in cold zones 5 and 6.

Thanks!
Rachana (Ruch-na)

Have to be honest, I will be pretty surprised if they come through this.
I'd actually like to know, so if you can post future pics for the sake of the community.
Others may like to see how you did it.

I'm rooting for those trees to live! :)
