No matter how much I pull them, they just seem to keep coming back. If I mulch they come straight through.
Anyone have any clever methods for preventing this from happening constantly? It’s so tedious..

I would bet those covers @9ah-figlet uses does pretty well with weeds.
Have you tried watering the soil before you pull? Dry soil always feels hard. Or use a hand held 3 prong fork like hoe to scrape it first? Any roots left in the soil seem to regrow. By the look of those weeds you’re putting some good fertilizer into your trees.

I was thinking the same thing. They look good to.I would bet those covers @9ah-figlet uses does pretty well with weeds.
Yeah you’re right. In the first picture I didn’t see dandelions I saw a lot clover. Dandelions have a long tape root. Look on the bright side, dandelions actually put calcium into soil. I posted this a few days ago but maybe you missed it. After I watched this I look at dandelions in a better way. Think you will enjoy the info.I have so many pots. For small weeds I made this DIY stirrup that’s ok for smaller weeds…. But it’s superficial. Sometimes I miss a dandelion. The two root is so deep they’re tough to get out without damaging roots

See you pull the weeds. If you don't pull the weeds you don't eat. capiche.Just keep ruffling up the soil once a week. Amico you gotta work or you get your son to go out there and teach him a few things with an offer he can’t refuse.
I usually keep a pretty thick layer of cedar mulch on mine. Seems to work decently although an occasional weed still pops up. When you mow does yard waste get kicked in your pots?

I'm going to look for it again. I just recall it would've cost me like $10 per pot. Do you recall what it's called? I think it's made of coir
I’ve been happy with the bulk coir mats that I cut for my pots. They do a good job keeping the weeds out (and my top dress fertilizer in place) as well as help with moisture.
However, if anyone is planning on trying them, you should expect to have to replace them every season.
