Congratulations! If your top figs up until now were VDB and Mavra Sika, not that they are bad figs, au contraire, they are very good, I am not surprised you were so impressed by Violeta. It's in a different league entirely. Some figs are one-dimensional. They can be very tasty. Sweet. Delicious when properly ripened. You'd think they are as good as it gets if that's all you've tried. But then you try a two-dimensional fig, and it changes your perception. Then you try a three-dimensional, multi-dimensional fig, with layers upon layers of flavors. Your mind is blown. You start to look at one-dimensional figures very differently. So does your palate. It becomes pickier, more selective
IMHO, not being able to describe the taste doesn't mean you don't have a refined palate. Not all of us have a way with words. Me neither, and it's totally fine. But when I put a great fig in my mouth, I know it's great right away.
